Welcome to Yeshurun, a platform for spreading the universal message of Judaism (who are we?)
This website is an invitation for a dialogue between Judaism and the cultural and spiritual values of the rest of mankind, in accordance with the teachings of Rabbis Avraham Itzchak Kook, Tzvi Yehuda Kook, Yehuda Leon Ashkenazi (Manitou). It is run by Brit Olam – the Noahide World Center, headed by Rabbi Uri Sherki.
Lecture by Rabbi Sherki “Modern Religious Zionism and its message to humanity”
Many see Judaism and Jewry as a national – religious entity absorbed in itself. However, God’s primary purpose in creating the Jewish idea has been outward, towards humanity, as He has told Abraham:
“And all peoples on earth will be blessed through you” (Genesis 12:3)
Thus, through Judaism the world has received the monotheistic idea – the worship of One, transcendental God. But it would be wrong to assume that that would conclude Israel’s role among the nations.
After an extremely long exile, during which we existed only as a religion, we have regained our land and our place among the nations as a political and national entity. And as Israel stands tall again with the rest of the world, its inner values can once again be a source of inspiration and hope not just for itself, but for all.
“The desire to be good to all with no restrictions – not in the quantity of those to whom we are good nor in the quality of the good we perform – that is the inner nucleus of the essence of the soul of Israel” — Rav Kook
